Falcons safety Keanu Neal fined for hit on Jordan Matthews

EAGL14

Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal was fined $24,309 by the NFL for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Eagles wide reciever Jordan Matthews last Sunday, according to a league source.

No penalty flag was thrown on the flag, but the league office told Eagles coach Doug Pederson during the week that it should have been a penalty. Matthews' helmet was dented and his facemask was bent from the hit.

"I definitely think it was a penalty," Matthews said after the game. "...But at the end of the day we got the win, so I will take a bloody lip if we get a win.”

Also, Eagles linebacker Najee Goode was fined $9,155 for an unnecessary roughness.
