Nearly 13-acre brush fire in Sylmar knocked down

A nearly 13-acre brush fire in Sylmar on Friday afternoon was knocked down, authorities said.

The blaze was reported at 1:01 p.m. at 12600 Maclay Street, near a riverbed southeast of El Cariso Golf Course, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department.

The knockdown came at 1:49 p.m., authorities said.

There were no injuries or evacuations, according to the department.

Maclay Street was closed between Harding Street and Fenton Avenue until Los Angeles Fire Department operations were complete.
