One Direction who?!

Exactly one week ago, millions of Directioners had their hearts broken when Zayn Malik announced he would be leaving the enormously popular boy band.

While some completely understand the 22 year old's need for space away from the spotlight, others couldn't help but voice their suspicions that his fiancée Perrie Edwards was behind the surprising decision to step away from the group. Even X Factor judge Louis Walsh had his concerns about the news.

"What I found in the past is as things get on, and as they get girlfriends, the girlfriends are whispering things in their ears and saying like, 'You should be a solo star,' 'You should be the lead singer,'" he shared with Ireland's RTE Radio One. "That's usually the problem."

Well in an added twist to the One Direction saga, Edwards returned to Instagram Wednesday—after 17 long days of silence—where she appeared to be at a tropical destination with the one and only Malik. And did we mention they looked happier than ever?

Edwards let the photo do the talking as she received a kiss on the cheek from her man. She also posted a solo shot of herself posing on the balcony of a building.

While Directioners continue to create theories as to what really caused the departure, Malik assures fans that there wasn't any bad blood between the band members. Instead, he wanted to step away from something that wasn't making him 100 percent happy.

"I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people's happiness—and that was mainly the fans," he told The Sun. "It's not that I've turned my back on them or anything, it's just that I just can't do that anymore because it's not real to me."

And what about those rumors that Malik cheated on Edwards, which ultimately contributed to his stress? Don't believe that talk either!

"She's all right, man. She's a good girl," he explained when denying claims that he was ever unfaithful. "She's always supportive. She's always good, man."
