Kristen Stewart and Stephenie Meyer Reteam for Twilight Contest Seeking Female Filmmakers for New Shorts

Have you ever thought about making your own movie about Edward and Bella? Well, now's your chance!

The Snow White and the Huntsman star explained why this unique opportunity is crucial for females in the industry. "I am where I am because of all the strong women who came before me to help pave the way," she said.

She continued, "Now is the time for the next generation of female filmmakers to take a stand and tell their stories."

The competition will challenge women to use their imagination and create 5-10 minute short films that explore the origin stories of the beloved characters from the popular Twilight franchise. And contestants will have complete freedom to let their visions run wild and interpret the books and movies in any way that their heart desires.

A blue chip panel of advisors will mentor the filmmakers and assist with producing and directing. The all-female panel of judges, which includes Stewart, Meyer, Spencer, Lee, Kate Winslet, Julie Bowen and Women In Film president, Cathy Schulmen, will ultimately select the winning short, which will premiere exclusively on Facebook next year.

The contest is currently in its initial phase of character voting which is open to anyone. Voters have the power to decide which characters from The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide should be featured in the short films. Who would you choose?
