Nick Jonas has become known for his ridiculously hot body, which he bulked up even more for his latest TV project, and is sure to delight scores of fans with new shirtless photos.

The pictures, taken for a Details magazine photo shoot, were posted on Thursday, two weeks after the premiere of the DirecTV series Kingdom, which sees the pop star and actor playing an MMA fighter and even getting naked in sex scenes.

We'll let you appreciate shirtless Jonas for a few seconds and also allow you to ponder why all men don't look like that.

"I got pretty Hulk-ish," he told the magazine.

Jonas said he also increased his daily calorie intake from about 3,000 to 4,200 (note: 3,500 calories equals one pound of fat) and ate prepared meals and snacks from the food delivery service Paleta.

"Breakfast was usually an omelet with veggies and cashew cheese, a turkey-meat patty and some fruit; lunch and dinner would be lean protein, veggies, and nuts," he told Details. "Snacks consisted of things like snap peas with peanut sauce."

Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease, when he was 13. He relies on synthetic insulin to regulate his body's blood glucose levels, which he must check several times a day. Jonas has for years used an insulin pump, an alternative method to injections.

His Kingdom weight gain diet was protein-heavy and protein has little effect on blood glucose levels. By contrast, the consumption of additional carbohydrates can cause them to spike and can be offset by additional insulin or exercise. And alcohol can have the opposite effect, causing hypoglycemia, which is just as dangerous.

"I wasn't drinking at all while I was training for the show, but now that we're done, I keep it classy with Coors Light," he told Details.

Jonas told E! News that after shooting Kingdom, he lost up to 10 pounds of muscle. He is currently concentrating on his music and has been on tour since September.

He told Details that he reduced his calorie intake to about 2,500 a day and decreased his meal portions, adding that he now works out three or four times a week and has been doing cardio as well as hot yoga, with girlfriend. Jonas has been dating Olivia Culpo, Miss Universe 2012, who is also 22, for more than a year.

"But I hate going to the gym," Jonas added. "I think everybody hates cardio to some degree. I'm not the kind of person who wakes up in the morning and can't wait to work out. I kind of dread it, actually. I see it as a necessary evil."
