We were apparently thisclose to seeing Sarah Palin on True Blood. Well, OK, not that close.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate revealed she was asked to be on the HBO vampire drama, the same episode in which a Senator Ted Cruz event was interrupted by a vampire massacre—Cruz slammed the show as "misogynistic" in a Facebook post—and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) went undercover as Republicans. The disguise led Pam to exclaim she was a "Republic--t."
"Nice try HBO. I'd put any mama grizzly in America against a vampire any day; for only one of them actually exists," Palin said.
At True Blood's final Comic-Con panel, Bauer van Straten commented on Palin's refusal to do the show. "She'll weigh in on anything," Bauer van Straten, who had been critical of Palin's pro-hunting stance, said, according to The Wrap. "It's sweet many, many years later that I've made her angry, I had fun doing it."
True Blood's final season continues throughout the summer on Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
